1.Baosteel Sets New Asian Record for Deep Well Casing Depths
Recently, news from the Xinjiang Oilfield of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) reported that the Qingbei 1 #well, which utilized Baosteel’s premium casing for completion and key drilling operations, has reached a drilling depth of 9,056 meters. This marks another new record for the deepest well in Asia achieved by Baosteel’s premium casing, following previous records set in the Pengshen 6 well in the Sichuan Basin and the Shenditake 1 well in the Tarim Basin. The Qingbei 1# well features extremely complex geological formations and pressure systems with alternating high-pressure and low-pressure strata. The highest formation temperature exceeded 190°C, and the highest reservoir pressure surpassed 170 MPa, setting new standards for oil wells in the Junggar Basin and representing a typical ultra-deep, ultra-high temperature, and ultra-high-pressure gas well.
2.Tangsteel Launches Ultra-Thin Manganese-Silicon Spring Steel
Tangsteel, a subsidiary of Hebei Iron and Steel Group, has successfully launched ultra-thin manganese-silicon spring steel, with a thickness of only 2.0mm, reaching the industry’s limit. After inspection, all indicators such as surface quality and dimensional accuracy meet the requirements of the process design. Manganese-silicon spring steel is a high-end product characterized by a high elastic limit, fatigue strength, and good ductility and toughness. It also possesses excellent properties like electrical conductivity, non-magneticity, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for applications in automotive and machinery manufacturing, electronic component manufacturing, and other fields.
3.Liansteel Electromagnetic Successfully Produces 0.15mm Cold Rolled Non-Oriented Silicon Steel
At the beginning of the new year, Liansteel Electromagnetic Materials Co., Ltd. (shortened to Liansteel Electromagnetic), located in Loudi Economic Development Zone, Hunan Province, successfully produced 0.15mm cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel. The product’s dimensional accuracy and mechanical performance are both excellent, with electromagnetic performance reaching the level of the L15WV1000 grade. The thickness of silicon steel directly impacts the eddy current loss in motors. To reduce eddy current loss and improve energy conversion efficiency, thinner silicon steel sheets are required.
