Blast Furnace Pig Iron production In The First Three Quarters Of 2023

According to the World Steel Association, blast furnace pig iron production in 37 countries and regions in the first three quarters of 2023 was 986.7 million tonnes, up 1.5% year-on-year. These 37 countries and regions accounted for about 98% of world production in 2022.

– Asia’s blast furnace pig iron production increased by 2.8% year-on-year to 829.5 million tonnes.

– EU-27 blast furnace pig iron production fell 10.9% year-on-year to 49.130 million tonnes. Except Germany, the other countries*s output down more or less.

– Production in Russia, other CIS countries and Ukraine combined was 47.532 million tonnes, up 2.0% year-on-year.

– North American production is estimated to have declined 3.8% year-on-year to 21.515 million tonnes.

– South American production fell 4.8% year-on-year to 21.249 million tonnes
