There are six methods commonly used in the production of section steel.
1. Ordinary rolling method
This method is carried out with a general two or three high mill. The pass is composed of two rolling grooves, which can produce ordinary simple, irregular and longitudinal rolling periodic section steel. This method is the most basic and most commonly used way in the production of section steel.
2. Multi-roll rolling method
It adopts more than three roll grooves to form the pass, effectively reducing the adverse effects of closed grooves and reducing the roll diameter difference. This method can roll out the section steel with parallel flange inside and outside, and the flange height of the rolled piece can be increased. In addition, it can also produce special-shaped section products. The multi-roll rolling method has the advantages of high rolling precision, small roll wear, low energy consumption and reduced residual stress of rolled parts, and H-beam steel is produced by this method.
3.Hot bending rolling method
In the hot bending rolling method, the billet is first rolled into a flat belt shape close to the finished section, and then bent and formed in the subsequent pass while hot. This method can be produced on a normal mill or a horizontal-vertical mill, and can roll bent section steel.
4. Hot rolling and longitudinal section rolling method.
Asymmetric section products are first designed into a symmetrical section, or small section products are designed into parallel type of large section products, in order to improve the production capacity of the mill. After cooling, the disk shears are used for longitudinal cutting to obtain the desired product.
5. Hot rolling – cold drawing (rolling) method
Hot rolling – cold drawing (rolling) method is first to make workpiece into form by hot rolling, and recerve a cold processing allowance. Then, after pickling, alkali washing, water washing, lubricant coating and other steps, and then cold drawing (rolling). This method can produce high precision profiles, and its mechanical properties and surface quality are higher than that of ordinary hot rolled section steel. Its accuracy can reach 3-4 levels, the surface finish can reach 5-7 levels. In addition, this method can also improve the efficiency,especially suitable for the transformation of old rolling mills for small-batch and multi-variety production.
6.Hot and cold forming method
It takes hot rolled and cold rolled sheet steel as raw materials. Through the rolling roll with a certain groove shape and rotation, the sheet steel is subjected to transverse bending deformation, and the steel with the required section shape is obtained. This method has the advantages of high flexibility and strong adaptability, and can meet the production needs of various complex section steel.
