Software TAU New Release

Filippo BaronApril 2, 2016

TAU software has changed the approach of SME customers and applicators to the design, testing and validation of a new vehicle. This new paradigm of work has shifted the focus to features or kind of applications previously never considered, because too expensive to reach. With TAU System all features are offered FOR FREE in the package, really available to every customer using our software. Moreover, being completely backward compatible when we release a new version of TAU.
This is very important for our customers and applicators because in our roadmap, we plan to have a new release every 4 months offering always new (or better) features.Knowing in advance that the upgrade to a new release is safe and can be made in minutes keeping (by TAU design) the same vehicle setup, it is really relaxing!

TAU software concept was born in 2010 and it was launched in the market in late 2013 after a long period of design implementation and validation. The number and kind of applications covered with only one firmware it’s really a kind of magic and its ease of use, with almost no need of consulting an user manual. have really made the difference!

Let us spend a few words on the last version of TAU System.
It is for SME an incredible step ahead because of two new powerful features of our tool SmartView (the GUI of TAU):

1. TAU Interactive Documentation

Using TAU System is easy since the first release: the common feedbacks of many real customers are that a basic use is almost immediate (with no need of SME support) and an advanced use can be gained in a few of days of self-learning (or with a half day of training).

This is great, but it is not enough for us. We want to offer a real ecosystem to the users (applicators, designers, managers and sales): this means that a user of TAU must have the most complete documentation available in one click.

If you are new to TAU and you want to have an overview of the functions offered, simply open the Interactive Documentation and have a look! Browsing this documentation is intuitive and free: you can navigate this like a web documentation (moving fast from one part to another following the internal hyperlinks) or you can read it linearly, part by part.
If you need suggestions on useful wiring for the most common applications, there you’ll find them.

QuickStart sessions for the main functions (traction, pump, dual traction and CAN network) are also available and made them easy to understand!

The detailed datasheets of the controllers (and the other hardware components) clearly present the really available and supported portfolio. And this is also useful as reference for other applications.

A session is dedicated to the TAU System Release History, with highlight on what is new, release by release.

Moreover, a collection of real customer questions is collected (in our FAQ section) to answer in advance to the most common question.

How can you get this one-fits-all documentation? The answer is the simplest: it is available automatically in the standard GUI of TAU System and last of magic, if you are in one section of the GUI and you want detailed information of the configuration parameters shown there, you can get there simply with one click (the Interactive Documentation opens automatically in the desired point)

2. Offline Mode

TAU offers since the first release a powerful technology for the overall management of a vehicle configuration: the clone file.

With one click it is possible to store in one single protected file the whole controller configuration, creating a clone archive in the PC.

With one click it is also possible to pick up one clone file and transfer its content to another controller. This is useful to create in the easiest way many identical copies of the same vehicle (or storing some different versions of the same application).

With the last release of TAU we offer the possibility to open/view/change/save/create copies of a clone file with no need to have a real controller connected to the GUI.

This clearly gives a wide opening to the design possibilities.

Now, it is the same being near the vehicle or being in the office, having a flight or staying at home.

The design phase of the application, where the focus is on the general overview and setup and customization (and where one can think about many variants to the tested the day after) can happen WHERE and WHEN you feel more effective and comfortable.

The possible solutions can be exchanged (via email for example), also with other people. This is a rich feature for the applicators, but also managers and sales can now use the system (in offline mode) in order to have a vision or to make real suggestions on the vehicle setup.

The possibility of creating a brand new clone file is supported: choosing as target a controller that maybe is not yet on your site. Nevertheless it is possible to simulate (from a configuration perspective) to have it virtually next to you and understand if it can fit your needs or not!

OfflineSelection

Last, but not least, this release is able to manage also the controller ACX1 100V 750A, the first model launched in the market of our brand new family of inverter!
