About the Rolling Mill Project
This is a turnkey project undertaken by Shanghai Metallurgy Equipment Group with a fast construction period of only 1 year. The rebar and wire rod integrated rolling mill’s capacity is 180,000 tons/year. This is the FIRST high-speed wire rod production line in Ethiopia that can produce Φ5.5mm wire rods. The project is complete in 2013 and continuously operating to date.
Raw Materials: 120*120*6000mm billets, 125*125*6000mm billets & 150*150*6000mm billets.
Main Equipment Configuration
- 35t/h reheating furnace
- 5-stand rebar roughing mill
- 10-stand intermediate mill
- 8-stand finishing mill
- GK1-GK6 wire rod block mill
The wire rod block mill unit is equipped with 6- stands of 45°top cross non-twist finishing mills.
The advantages of this unit include its lightweight design, minimal vibration, and ease of operation. As a result, it enhances product precision and ensures high-quality output. The rolling line’s maximum speed reaches up to 35m/s.
